Ashagrie is a policy researcher and analyst at Policy Studies Institute (PSI). He has worked as General Director officer Head in PSI. As a former Director General Head at PSI, he brings deep experience in public policy influence and institutional engagement, making him well-positioned to ensure that research findings shape national planning and policy decisions. He worked as a researcher and Assistant Professor in Silla University (South Korea), Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Addis Ababa University and Bahir Dar University. He has been conducting research, formulating policies and strategies related with indigenous informal economy, agriculture, food system, food security, and bio-economy sectors in Ethiopia. Ashagrie conducted long term collaborative research projects and joint policy-oriented research and analysis and impact evaluation of government flagship programs with national and international research-oriented institutes. He is uniquely equipped to ensure that data and research outputs are fed into the policy making process directly and established deliberate practice of disseminating research results to the line-ministries and other stakeholders. He has been actively involved in the development of viable policy recommendations to policy makers, and contributed a lot to the formulation of policies and strategies in the country. He has a strong network with the policy makers of Ethiopia and worldwide.
