Poverty, gender lag in global SDG research output – Study
Our Top Tips were cited, and our convenor Debra Rowe and two Fellows (Sally Wilson and Raji Sivaraman) were quoted in the story. The study revealed that among the SDGs, SGD 1 No Poverty and SDG 5 Gender Equality are the least represented (by some margin) in research content as assigned to the SDGs using SciVal’s publicly available SDG Boolean query sets.

A report on a global online HESI meeting on ‘Future-Proofing Accreditation, Standards and Education’ and quote from Debra Rowe saying that all participants were “interested in inclusion of the environmental, social and economic components of creating sustainable development as key criteria for accreditation, quality assurance and other standards”.

UN initiative pushes integration of SDGs in rankings
A report on the work of HESI’s Joint Task Force on Outcomes and Impact (JTFOI) from the HESI Rankings and Assessments Action Group and the SDG Publishers Compact Fellows Action Group. JTFOI brought together ranking bodies such as QS, Times Higher Education, the Financial Times and Elsevier, to discuss integrating the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their assessments of universities, colleges and research.

But they are also uniquely well-suited to help humanity achieve sustainable solutions to its economic, social, and environmental challenges.
